Well, I’ve decided to start over with a new blog. Yeah, I know, this will be my…what?…fourth move?

Meh, this time I’m using proper WordPress thanks to staffers pointing it out to me. ^_^ Blogsome plain sucks, WordPress has decent spam features and I’m too lazy to go through all my blogs just to pile out the crap. I may, if I can, import these blogs into my new one without the comment, for archive’s sake, but yeah, new bloggy. ^_^

I want to blog more and this will help with it. New blog, new (and better) system, same old me.

On the InvisionFree Support forum, I, Jay Hudson, have recently become a victim of vandalism of the utmost disgrace! Yesterday at 21:00 hours I discovered the following note being left in my signtaure:

I have yet to catch this culprit and no information is available for me yet. The private detective I have hired is now drunk and has gone missing, but that’s Francis for you.

In other news, I’m bored. But need to get back into my blogging.

So, I didn’t get to sleep last night. At all. In spite of how uber tired I was, when I left IRC to go to bed, I just couldn’t. Soooo, I spent a few hours watching garbage while Wolf kept my feet warm. I still wouldn’t fall asleep; by 12:30pm I was going nuts so I decided to head out and go see a friend and he decided he wanted to go to the damn cafe, and me being in no mood to argue, I submitted and went.

I think I fell asleep a few times, not completely but just those weird mini-moments when your head falls down and you boing back up thinking where the hell am I?!?! I’m sure you’ve all had those moments too. I hope. o_O Anyhoo, he goes to the toilets and I’m just sitting there, minding my own business, stirring a vortex into my coffee when all of a sudden I feel something wet on my ear. I assumed it was rain at first but I couldn’t quite explain to myself how it was raining inside the cafe. So, I figure it’s a leak or something but alas it was not as the ceiling appeared to be in mighty fine shape. Or as mighty fine as a ceiling can be…don’t want anyone thinking I have weird hobbies that involve checking out ceilings. o_O

Anyhoo, this was all a moments thought and it bugged me so I turned around and low and behold it turned out some guy had licked my ear. I have no explanation as to why, he was just leaving but he grinned at me like he’d slept with a coat hanger in his mouth or something. I was a bit disturbed to say the least…never had THAT happen to me before. Maybe it was a compliment? A show of affection? Or maybe he was complaining about my ear. Hmmm.

That said, he was mighty cute. Looked around my age too…damn. Oh well, I’m sure there are plenty of other odd, ear licking dudes out there.

That’s it really. Nothing more to tell. I’m still awake and ready to cry; I CAN’T SLEEP!!!!

Yes, it’s my birthday indeed. Well, actually, it was yesterday but that is hardly here nor there since I celebrate it today, in true Jay-Late fashion.

I’ve been here at InvisionFree Support forums for one year now, my real anniversary was back in June but meh, this seems more fitting. And it has nothing to do with the fact I completely forgot.

It’s been an interesting time, ups and downs, bump and rides, highs and lows. Though I suppose that comes with being part of a community, online or offline. All in all however it has been a good experience. I’ve met countless wonderful people like Stefan, Christina (the two of them), Rory, Jeremy, Brandon, Brian, Stephen, Nir, Merc, Phrank, Francis, Ben, Logik, JamesWC, Das, Pennywise, Alcario, Seth, Dan, Matthew, Veritech Pilot…the list truly goes on, far too many to really name. Just add the moderating team list onto half of the most active people and you’ll get the idea. All of them have been wonderful people throughout my time and continue to be, to myself, to the community and to InvisionFree. I like to think it’s these people who make the community on IF what it really is. Take away the idiocy and rule breaking and you’ll find a group of strong, intelligent and funny individuals who are worth every AIM conversation, every IRC nutty chat and every post that you exchange.

My only regret is not getting involved enough on a more social level. I’m a quiet person really so I tend to shy away from most things, posting here and there just because. It’s something I can work on.

But I look to the good side of course. As well as the many wonderful people I absolutely adore, I’ve gained a great deal of knowledge just from watching people post, their actions dictating so much with only so little needing to be said. Incredible really what I’ve learned. And then there’s the words of wisdom I have heeded from time to time, usually from the likes of Phrank, Stephen, CT (Looners ), Zach, Matty and so on; all who have helped me immensely through tough times that, quite frankly, forced me to question a few things. I did consider leaving IF, entirely, as I did MSN but having listened to their words and of course spoken to dear friends and family (well, Mark), I decided to remain. A good decision I feel because no matter what happens, I still want to give back to this community. I want to return the favour, if you will. I hope I can make it for another year though we never truly know what lies ahead, but I think I’m far too comfortable to leave, where else will I find decent support, good people and a system that even a tube with a brain cell can work? I don’t want to hear anything about the samaritans, smart arses.

Hmm, yes, anyway, don’t want to natter on for too long. Just want to say thank you to those who wished me a happy birthday and thank you everyone who has been here for the past year and made my time here enjoyable. I luv ya all.

The second one wasn’t intended but I had space left so I thought I’d use it up. The original I had looked crapper so I made this and just decided to use it.

This one’s located in my profile, it’s just some random thing I wanted in order to complete my new look (wouldn’t it be fab if we could skin our own profiles? ), the quote was a random thing I pulled out of an RP I watch over.

Mmm, yes, it’s an Elder Scrolls theme, Oblivion to be exact. Never played any of ther other Elder Scrolls games but Morrowind had me hooked within minutes - best RP I ever played that didn’t crash. So I’m waiting patiently for Oblivion to come out.

I haven’t blogged in a while now, haven’t had a great deal to blog about though until now. Mmm, my first proper rant in some time. Fantastic!

As some of you may have guessed, it’s regarding the latest IF problem (for me); Graphics. If you’re not up to speed on things have a read through these:

Yes, my patience is now worn down with these people. I think I have practically none left. But can you blame me? We have worked so hard to try and get that forum back into shape, flattening out the idiots and putting people in their place and I’m pretty sure we’ve improved a bit but now it appears to have slammed into a pothole and been thrown over the side of the mountain. And this, my friends and enemies, is our desperate attempt to hit the breaks and get back on track.

Desperate may be the word, not sure, depends really how you view it. The forum won’t become devestated if we don’t but I’m sure we’d all rather NOT have another Support Forum on our hands. By which I mean a place filled with cretins. I’m till awaiting the title of ‘Graphic Volunteer’ to pop up from the depths of Cocytus. *shudders* Cocytus. Heh, I like that name, in spite of it representing the Seventh level of Hell. Hmmm…I wonder…does Satan use a stair lift between each level or…wait, I’m going off-blog!

Mmm yes, as you may guess by the topics, I have grown extremely weary of the arguing and rule breaking I say everyday, and I’m not alone on that one either. None of us like to see the forums become unruly and we do our best but GR has become somewhat of a project of mine. Might seem weird but it’s how I work as a moderator. I joined because I wanted to make a difference and while I started off (and continue to) moderate everywhere, GR has almost become my POA (Point Of Attention), my baby if you will. It could be because I moderate on Graphix Networks [/shamelessplug] but whatever it is that’s attracted me to that place, that’s where I am now. Everyday I check over the forums for about half an hour and then my attention becomes mainly GR and its brother boards. So naturally it pains me to see it being harmed with vengeful flaming and bitter arguements.

I’m now at the point where nothing but the hard end of my boot will work. We’ve tried being nice, we’ve tried being mean, we’ve tried to resolve things through PMs, we’ve tried to just close topics and rid of them once and for all. Nothing has worked, not for some of the regulars. So now we have to resort to coming down hard on people who continue to flame or argue or bait people.

In all honesty I’m not bothered having to do it I just think it’s stupid that it’s come to this. Why can’t people be sensible and mature? Hopefully this will change some attitudes. If not, then we’ll rid of them. No more in between, no more compromising, no more grey areas just our final word.

I realise of course it’s not everyone, we do have regulars who actually fill in the request while completely ignoring the other idiots and I commend them, it’s a shame they have to suffer the ever watching eye because of a few others but that’s what happens when people push and push. Well, I hope people are happy. It appears some people want to see what I’m like when I’m pushed to the edge and now they will know. This kitten has claws and they ain’t small.

The best thing about it all though is that I’m not bitter or angry or anything. If I leave the Graphics area I don’t still feel annoyed or want to hiss venom, I return to my normal self. It’s fantastic! No twisted satisfaction for anyone else. Wheeeeeeeeeee!

I’m trying out some new themes so bear with me. I’m also trying to find out if I can change the banner to something more custom. Mmm no more default!
